Before submitting the article to the editorial office, please carefully review the most recent issue of the journal and format your text accordingly, as this will determine the initial selection of the article. In addition to the aforementioned criteria, please consider the following as much as possible:

  • Ա References to sources should include the name + letter + number (e.g., Khorenatsi B. 15).
  • Manuscripts should be referenced by number (e.g., Mashtots Matenadaran, no. 2751).
  • Use Latin numerals for centuries in Armenian (e.g., XI), and Arabic numerals for English (e.g., 11th).
  • All proper names used in the text must be written the same everywhere.
  • Emphasized words should be in italics, and subheadings should be in bold.
  • For dates, use the short form "թ." and not the full year number, and write "թ." separately (e.g., 1980 թ.).
  • Quotation marks should be used as follows: «...» (for Armenian) and “...” (for English).
  • Parentheses should be round: () and not linear, such as // or [].
  • The dash should be used in its long form (–) in all places, not the short form (-).
  • References – In French and Russian, all words except proper nouns should be written in lowercase (Fiey J. 1970, Jalons pour une histoire de l’Eglise en Iraq, Louvain; Шумов С. 2002, Ирак: история, народ, культура, Москва), in English, all words except prepositions and conjunctions should be capitalized (Smith J.P. 1903, A Compendious Syriac Dictionary, Oxford), In German, all nouns should be capitalized (Baumstark A. 1922, Geschichte der syrischen Literatur mit Ausschluß der christlich-palästinensischen Texte, Bonn).
  • In the references, use the initials of the author's name, not the full name ( Poghosyan V.H.) instead of the full name (Vahan Poghosyan).
  • For book units, use abbreviations as follows: vol. (volume), iss. (issue), bk. (book).
  • When referring to images/tables in the text, use their abbreviations in uppercase (Fig. 30/2, Tbl. III/1).
  • For transliteration, you can use the following websites (https://translit.ru or https://translit.net/) and match the system with the Hübschmann-Meillet transliteration system.
