Articles submitted for publication in the Journal of Armenian Studies, an international Armenological journal, must meet the following requirements:

1.Preliminary Acceptance Conditions:

  1. Adherence to the journal’s format (topic, style, scientific system).
  2. Not having been published elsewhere.
  3. Containing a certain novelty.
  4. The presence of an appropriate scientific apparatus.
  5. A clear structure.
  6. Materials for the journal must be submitted in GHEA Grapalat font, size 12, in A4 format with the following margins: top 2 cm, bottom 2.5 cm, left 3 cm, right 1 cm, line spacing 1.5. Text wrapping should not be used (the text is preferably prepared using Word 97–2003/2007 software, with images in TIFF or high-quality JPEG format). Articles and reports of up to 15 pages (authors without a scientific title) or 18 pages (authors with a scientific title) are accepted. In cases of exceptional importance, the article may be up to 22 pages (only at the discretion of the editorial board). Reviews and informational/news materials should generally not exceed 6 pages. Materials are accepted in Armenian and foreign languages.
  7. Articles are subject to mandatory peer review. The dates of submission, review, and acceptance for publication are indicated by the editorial board in the first citation of the article, marked with an asterisk. Authors without a scientific degree (master's, postgraduate students) submit a letter of recommendation from a supervisor/specialist (candidate of science, doctor) according to the appropriate format (sent to the journal website or by e-mail to banberhayagitutyan@gmail.com as a PDF, or submitted to the editorial office).
  8. In the case of submitting a book review, in addition to emphasizing the positive aspects of the work, critical points may also be noted: the reviewer submits a copy of the book being reviewed to the editorial office.

2. Structure of the Article

  1. In the top right corner of the first page: the author's name(s), surname(s), academic title and degree, place of work and country, email address, ORCID code, and phone number. The author's FIRST NAME and LAST NAME should be written in capital letters.
  2. The title of the article should be written in CAPITAL letters, bold, and centered. The title should reflect the purpose of the research.
  3. Abstract – A concise summary of the main points of the article, up to 200 words (in the main language of the article). Following the abstract, provide 7 keywords in the main language of the article.
  4. Introduction – Define the objective of the research, present the issues to be examined, highlighting their scientific/practical significance, and the methods applied. Include any new source information, if available. Present any opposing views to the existing perspectives on the topic, supported by arguments.
  5. Main body – The article is presented in separate subsections (with subheadings), each providing an analysis of the issues under investigation. Direct quotations longer than five lines should be indented from both the left and right sides, distinguishing them from the preceding and following lines. Place reference marks after the period or comma in the text.
  6. Summary – The results of the research are presented. The summary is provided in two languages: Armenian (Ամփոփում) and English (Summary), up to 300 words. The content of the summaries should be consistent in both languages. This section should also include the article's title and the author's name and surname.
  7. If there are any recommendations related to the topic, they should be made after the conclusion in a separate subsection.
  8. Keywords – Following the summaries, provide the Keywords (Բանալի բառեր), with a total of 7.

3. Images and Tables – Must be created using Microsoft Word, with a title and number. Drawings, black-and-white, and color images should be submitted as separate files (JPEG or TIFF), named sequentially (fig/tab. 1, 2, 3…), with a resolution of at least 300 DPI for images and 600 DPI for drawings. A "List of Images" should be attached, including an explanation for each image and a reference to the source of the image in parentheses. Online images or those without a reference are not accepted.

4. References (only include those works that are cited in the text). At the end of the article, provide a list of used literature and sources (BIBLIOGRAPHY) (the list should be compiled according to the following principles). When using literature in Armenian, Russian, Arabic, or other languages, the reference details should be transliterated and provided with an English translation, for example: Ադոնց Ն. 1972, Հայաստանի պատմություն, Երևան, «Հայաստան» հրատ., 428 էջ: (Adonc N. 1972, Hayastani patmowt'yown, Erewan, Hayastan hrat., 428 êj). Adonts N. 1972, History of Armenia, Yerevan, Armenia Press, p. 428 (in Armenian), and for Russian literature, provide the English translation as well (in Russian), for example: Тер-Гевондян А. 1977, Армения и Арабский халифат, Ереван, изд. «АН Арм. ССР», 323 с., (Ter-Łevondyan A. 1977, Armenia and the Arab Chaliphate, Yerevan, “ArmSSR AS. publ.” 323 p. (in Russian)։
The same principle should be applied in the case of articles, collections, primary sources, etc.
